The unique color comes from natural sap lines in walnut wood. The grooves on the top of the soap dish allow air flow and drainage for your soap to dry between uses to further its longevity. The grooves also provide traction for the soap to keep it from slipping and sliding! The domed bottom of the soap dish allows air flow to the wooden dish to keep it from staying damp and breaking down the wood.
The soap dishes are made of a singular piece of wood sourced from a local North Carolina sawmill as rough sawn lumber. They are oiled to finish with a combination of food safe oil and beeswax.
This is a 100% handcrafted piece from natural materials and as to be expected, the characteristics that give wood its beauty can include grain changes, variation in color, inclusions, and other natural features. There may be slight variations in color and wood grain on the item you receive.
Care:
Hand wash with damp cloth and allow to air dry. Do not soak or submerge the dish in water. Use an old toothbrush to clean off any residual soap as needed.
